“The Mandalorian” Receives 24 Emmy Award Nominations

After two very successful seasons and taking America by storm, The Mandalorian has received 24 Emmy Award Nominations. Two years in a row, the awards have recognized The Mandalorian, but this is a new feat. One episode alone, “Chapter 13: The Jedi”, received eight separate nominations, while other episodes, actors, and members of the team have been recognized for their talents, as well.

Jon Favreau, the creator and executive producer said, “It is an honor for the show to be nominated. We especially appreciate the artists and craftspeople being recognized for their contributions in bringing The Mandalorian to life. Congratulations to our cast and crew, and to our partners at Disney+ and Lucasfilm. Thank you to the Television Academy from all of us.”

Dave Filoni, the Star Wars prodigy and executive producer for The Mandalorian, said, “I’m just so thrilled for the entire team. To receive 24 nominations is beyond what anyone could imagine, we really appreciate this recognition from the Academy. I am so proud of everyone involved. The Force was strong with us today.”

Season 2 was fantastic; it had successfully explored Star Wars lore and introduced many familiar characters while introducing some lovable (and terrifying) new ones. One of the most exciting parts of Season 2 was bringing a young Jedi Master Luke Skywalker back to the screen. It had given a glimpse of Luke’s abilities as he rescued Grogu and the rest of the team.

The Mandalorian will return for a third season but will not come out until 2022, after the premiere of the Boba Fett show, The Book of Boba Fett. Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian will debut on August 25th as it explores the behind-the-scenes of Season 2 and the magic that brought Luke back.
