Thorsday Open Thread

Good Morning!

Hopefully nothing significant happened after I put this together, I’m typing Wednesday morning to get this ready to post Thursday morning. As previously mentioned mrs_rob and I are going to spend a short time away from our home to go have some fun and see the sites. I’ll be putting the mailbag together later this afternoon, still time for questions until about 5pm eastern. I’m going to smoke a pork butt Friday and make some homemade coleslaw, and I might grill some peaches for desert. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thorsday, one more day until weekend eve.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris notes: Jeff Gladney case to go to grand jury on 22 July; we’ll find out more about his fate then.

The Daily Norseman Mailbag: Last mailbag before training camp.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com: Former Vikings players and coach Pete Bercich heads back into the film room to look at Camryn Bynum, a fourth round pick out of Cal, who played cornerback in college but will make the transition to safety with the Vikings.

Key Vikings Training Camp Questions: Smith’s Potential Emergence & Intriguing Battle.

League News:

Patrick Mahomes says Justin Herbert comment ‘taken out of context’: ‘I have a ton of respect for him’

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, try the tiger meat and Welcome Aboard!
