Eagles designate 4 practice squad protections ahead of Week 6

Unpoachable.

The Philadelphia Eagles placed protections on the following four practice squad players to ensure that they can’t be poached away ahead of their Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: wide receiver John Hightower, tight end Noah Togiai, offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark, and safety Elijah Riley.

JOHN HIGHTOWER

The Eagles haven’t given up on his long-term potential. Also makes sense to protect him considering they only have five receivers on the roster and just two on the PS after cutting Travis Fulgham.

Fulgham signed with the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad, by the way.

NOAH TOGIAI

In case you missed it, the Eagles reacquired Togiai on Monday. He’s a strong contender to be elevated for Thursday’s game with Dallas Goedert going on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Togiai figures to be the third tight end behind Zach Ertz and Jack Stoll.

LE’RAVEN CLARK

The Eagles used a COVID-19 elevation on Clark last week. They could look to have the veteran up again for this game as the swing tackle behind Andre Dillard and Jordan Mailata.

ELIJAH RILEY

The Eagles have used a protection on Riley every week this season. They clearly like his potential and don’t want to lose him.
