What can we expect on Saturday?

The Browns vs. Jaguars game is a story of two tales. There really aren’t many starting roles up for grabs on either side of the ball for Cleveland. However, for Jacksonville, Urban Meyer has yet to name the team’s QB1. The Jaguars used the No. 1 pick on Trevor Lawrence, so even if Meyer thinks he is not ready, ownership will likely force his hand.

Kevin Stefanski announced the majority of the Browns’ starters would not play in the contest. But there are still plenty of talented players to watch. Edge rusher Takk McKinley has been away from the team for personal reasons, so there are plenty of reps to go around. Additionally, LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will see the field after COVID-19 delayed his start to training camp.

In the secondary, 2019 second-rounder Greedy Williams and 2021 first-rounder Greg Newsome II will be duking it out for the starting outside CB job opposite Denzel Ward. Offensively, RB Demetric Felton could shine out of the backfield while second-year TE Harrison Bryant looks to take a leap forward this year.

As for Jacksonville, the spotlight will be on the aforementioned QB battle between Lawrence and Gardner Minshew. Minshew has not relieved his bowels in preparation for the competition, so expect him to ball out. It will also be interesting to watch Tim Tebow play an NFL game again, albeit at a far different position — tight end.
