The Landon Dickerson deal is done.
With eight rookies signing in June, second-round pick Landon Dickerson was the only player who remained unsigned. That changed today with the team officially announcing Dickerson signed.
A recap of the entire class:
1 (10) – DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
2 (37) – Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama
3 (73) – Milton Williams, DT, Louisiana Tech
4 (123) – Zech McPhearson, CB, Texas Tech
5 (150) – Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis
6 (189) – Marlon Tuipulotu, DT, USC
6 (191) – Tarron Jackson, DE, Coastal Carolina
6 (224) – JaCoby Stevens, LB, LSU
7 (234) – Patrick Johnson, LB, Tulane
These rookie contracts are four-year deals worth predetermined amounts of money (more on that below). The Eagles have the ability to exercise a fifth-year option on Smith’s contract since he was a first-round pick.
Signing draft picks used to be a bigger issue before the last two Collective Bargaining Agreements. Aside from some occasional exceptions, rookie contract signings are really just a formality in today’s NFL. Still, the Eagles will be glad to have gotten some paperwork out of the way.
