The New York Giants had a week where they were able to feel good about themselves following a victory over the New Orleans Saints. But that week of fun ended after their Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
With multiple key injuries in Dallas, the Giants endured a 44-20 beating, which sent them plummeting back down the rankings of the NFL.
After their loss to the Cowboys, the Giants are projected to pick seventh overall in the 2021 NFL draft if the season ended today, according to Tankathon.com.
What is even worse, the Giants also have the Chicago Bears’ first-round pick and they have suddenly figured out a way to win games — noble concept, we know.
So with the Bears now at 3-2 and on a winning streak, the Giants would also be slated to pick 22nd overall in the first round.
Before the Monday night’s game, the Giants had initially been at sixth overall, but with the Indianapolis Colts losing in a thriller to the Baltimore Ravens, they bumped the Giants down to seventh and claimed the sixth spot.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the Philadelphia Eagles not only have the sixth overall pick from the Carson Wentz trade, but they also have the Miami Dolphins’ pick as well. In total, they have the fifth and sixth overall picks, plus their own, which is currently the 10th overall pick.
It is definitely not a fun time to be a Giants fan.
